Deck Staining

How is your Deck looking? Are you struggling to keep it in superior condition? This is one of the most common issues homeowners face. The only way to keep your deck looking as good as new is to protect it from rotting. Decks must be treated every 1 to 3 years, depending on the brand of stain, the clear protective products that were originally used, the transparency of the material and the quality of the application.

We understand that deck maintenance may be a difficult and time consuming task. Let us take the hassle out of this for you, it’s our job! We guarantee high quality, professional results, use of industry leading materials and timely completion of the job.

Tips to keep your deck looking great

If you’re building a new deck, we recommend applying two coats of clear protection to each board from every corner. This step can double the life of your deck.

Always power wash, and allow your deck to dry before staining Skipping this step can lead to peeling, mould growth under the finish and unsightly blemishes showing through the finish.

Most products on the market for deck maintenance are eco-friendly, water based. From many years of experience with these products we can say that their results are impressive as they seem to hold better than solvent based products.

The higher the stain transparency the shorter the life span of the application. Clear or semi-transparent stains are not as durable as solid stains. We recommend a higher end, long lasting stain, such as Benjamin Moore's.

Solid stains, although durable, sometimes can lead to blocking of the wood grain and peeling after several applications.

Stains and clear protective products should be generously applied for best the look and longevity.
